【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluateoxidationstabilityoflubricatingbaseoilswithadditivesinthepresenceofchemistriessimilartothosefoundingasolineengineservice.TestresultsonsomeASTMreferenceoilshavebeenfoundtocorrelatewithsequenceIIIDenginetestresultsinhoursfora375%viscosityincrease.8Thetestdoesnotconstituteasubstituteforenginetesting,whichmeasureswear,oxidationstability,volatility,anddepositcontrolcharacteristicsoflubricants.Properlyinterpreted,thetestmayprovideinputontheoxidationstabilityoflubricantsundersimulatedenginechemistry.Thistestmethodisintendedtobeusedasabenchscreeningtestandqualitycontroltoolforlubricatingbaseoilmanufacturing,especiallyforre-refinedlubricatingbaseoils.Thistestmethodisusefulforqualitycontrolofoxidationstabilityofre-refinedoilsfrombatchtobatch.Thistestmethodisusefulforscreeningformulatedoilspriortoenginetests.Withinsimilaradditivechemistryandbaseoiltypes,therankingofoilsinthistestappearstobepredictiveofrankinginenginetests.Whenoilshavingcompletelydifferentadditivechemistryorbaseoiltypearecompared,oxidationstabilityresultsmaynotreflecttheactualenginetestresult.Otheroxidationstabilitytestmethodshavedemonstratedthatsolublemetalcatalystsuppliesareveryinconsistentandtheyhavesignificanteffectsonthetestresults.Thus,fortestcomparisons,thesamesourceandsamebatchofmetalnaphthenatesshallbeused.Note28212;Itisalsorecommendedasagoodresearchpracticenottousedifferentbatchesofthefuelcomponentintestcomparisons.1.1Thistestmethodevaluatestheoxidationstabilityofengineoilsforgasolineautomotiveengines.Thistest,runat160176;C,utilizesahighpressurereactorpressurizedwithoxygenalongwithametalcatalystpackage,afuelcatalyst,andwaterinapartialsimulationoftheconditionstowhichanoilmaybesubjectedinagasolinecombustionengine.Thistestmethodcanbeusedforengineoilswithviscosityintherangefrom4mm2/s(cSt)to21mm2/s(cSt)at100176;C,includingre-refinedoils.1.2Thistestmethodisnotasubstitutefortheenginetestingofanengineoilinestablishedenginetests,suchasSequenceIIID.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.
